In a landmark meeting on December 6, 2025, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, hosted a high-powered delegation of African business and philanthropic leaders. This wasn't just another diplomatic handshake; it was a gathering of minds shaping Africa's economic and social landscape.
The delegation, a who’s who of African influence, included leaders from Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Egypt, Sudan, and Zimbabwe. These aren’t just names on a roster—they’re the driving forces behind sectors like energy, digital infrastructure, logistics, and agriculture, steering companies and foundations that fuel GDP, create jobs, and build resilient communities across the continent.
Sheikh Mohammed’s words during the meeting were clear and compelling: “The UAE and Dubai believe deeply in the power of partnership to accelerate progress. Our ties with Africa are rooted in deep historical, human, and economic connections. We see Africa as a key partner in building a more prosperous and stable future for our region and the world.” He highlighted the synergy between the UAE’s innovation-driven development and Africa’s dynamic growth, emphasizing collaboration in energy, food security, and sustainable economies.

Discussions at the Address Creek Harbour Hotel in Dubai delved into expanding joint ventures in renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and agriculture, but also focused on maximizing the impact of commercial investments through community and philanthropic initiatives.
